**JACKSONVILLE, Fla.** – Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning as a man lost his life in an industrial accident at a logistics company in the Lackawanna area of Jacksonville, according to police reports.

Local authorities responded to a distress call at Lineage Logistics company on Dignan Street just before 9:30 a.m. The responders discovered a man trapped under the bed of a semi-trailer and, despite prompt medical attention, the man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, had succumbed to his injuries.

Sergeant Steve Rudlaff of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared that the unfortunate incident occurred while the man, a truck driver for Abaco Freight, was working alone beneath the semi on the air slide. The bed of the truck unexpectedly descended over the tires, entrapping him beneath the trailer.

It was reported that the trailer was fully loaded, and the man had pulled over to make repairs before being discovered trapped by a witness. The out-of-state origin of the truck driver remains uncertain.

An ongoing joint investigation involving OSHA and JSO aims to determine the circumstances leading to the accident, including surveillance footage or testimonies from potential witnesses. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact JSO at 904-630-0500.
