On Wednesday, July 3, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a 2004 Freightliner 18-wheeler was heading northbound on State Highway 35 when a 2015 Honda Pilot traveling southbound encountered hydroplaning conditions.

In a distressing turn of events, the Honda lost control and veered into the northbound lane, colliding with the front left side of the 18-wheeler, ultimately causing the large vehicle to skid off the road into the grass. The Honda swerved back into the southbound lane following the impact.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, identified as 53-year-old George Flores of Louise, Texas, sustained minor injuries and was promptly taken to Rockport Emergency Room for treatment.
