A fatal traffic collision occurred on northbound Highway 101, one mile south of Alisos Canyon Road in Los Alamos, Calif., resulting in one fatality and injuries to four individuals. Among the injured were an adult woman and an infant with major injuries who were extricated by first responders and swiftly transported to Marian Regional Medical Center. Two other individuals with moderate injuries were also taken to the medical center by ambulance. The incident, which took place at 4:36 p.m. on Thursday, necessitated a temporary closure of northbound Highway 101 for a medical helicopter to land. One lane was reopened at 6:17 p.m., as per the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. This is an ongoing emergency situation, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
